Technical (Java) Implementation Consultant
FINEOS is currently recruiting for a Technical Consultant. The Technical Consultant role is to ensure that solutions designed and constructed are technically sound and conform to industry best practice.
This is not a pure "developer" role – it requires people with an aptitude for considering the bigger picture, the knowledge to consider all options, the innovation to select the best solution, and the determination to take the solution to completion, while maintain a focus on delivering quality and value to the customer.
Role:
Analyse and design the major components of FINEOS implementations
Select the appropriate technologies (languages, middleware, etc.) for the solution
Develop the solution components
Ensure all aspects of good design and construction are delivered, including:
Performance and scalability and security
Modularity, interoperability and upgradability
Work with peers within the client organisation to ensure a successful delivery
Liaise with business consultants for requirements handover
Provide detailed planning and tracking information to project management
Liaise with Technical Architects for direction and compliance
Requirements
Minimum two years good experience in a technically challenging environment
Strong analysis and design skills
Expert knowledge of specific technologies including:
Java, JSP, Servlets. J2EE
Webservers, Browsers, HTML, JavaScript, XML
SQL, RDBMS – Oracle, SQL Server, DB2
Experience using middleware and integration technologies such as MQ Series, Tuxedo, XML
Experience developing integrations with such diverse systems as Microsoft Office, Document Management Systems
Experience developing in complex technical environments, including Client-server and Internet
Willingness to take ownership of significant elements of an overall solution
Innovative, good general technical knowledge, and focussed on delivering the best solution to the customer
Flexibility and willingness to travel when on-site work is required (typically for short periods)
