Technical Product Development Manager, Kerry.

Our client is a successful software firm based in County Kerry. Due to continued growth in their overseas market, they have retained PBRecruitment to identify a dynamic technical Product development Manager to take ownership of their on-going product development. This is a unique career opportunity for the right candidate. It is a permanent job, with genuine long term career prospects, based full time in Co Kerry, with frequent travel to the UK.

The Role

The role encompasses directing, developing and supporting cutting edge mobile biometric products for the international market integrating to our web based software solution. This will include redesigning and improving the company’s mobile biometric solutions, and taking ownership of the firm’s flagship product offerings. The successful candidate will initially gain a deep understanding of the existing application at a low level; this will involve documenting the application where necessary, and then creating requirements for enhancements and changes and then working with the firm’s software development partner to manage those enhancements and changes to the application. You will then manage the UAT and sign off on this phase of the project. On a longer term basis you will be ensuring that the roadmap for the company is managed properly, managing the product development activities, managing the businesses technical support team providing technical support with programming and hardware support to other technicians, management and sales force.
Key Requirements:
Educated to degree level, you have a background in hi-tech product development in the electronic/realtime/embedded sector, along with strong project management experience. You have a proven track record in developing and documenting requirements, specifications and test plans and have prior experience in technical product development. You should have excellent communication and problem solving skills and solid people management experience. You should be happy to live and work in Kerry on a long term basis and be able to travel frequently to the UK (weekly short term trips to the UK are involved in this role.)
