Technical consultant
My client, a leading Managed Service Provider would like to invite applications for the contract position of Technical Consultant, initially for 3 months, at their premises based in Belfast. This position will involve frequent travel. This position offers a competitive daily rate in line with experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
Technical
* Deploy technical solutions to customers
* Deliver consultancy solutions and services within effective timescales
* Ability to deliver technical demonstrations to clients independently or with partners
* Monitor and where appropriate make recommendations for change to delivery methodologies for software consultancy services within business service
* Assume product champion role on emerging technologies
* Develop client engagement suite with latest technology to facilitate technical customer workshops
* Continue to develop personal technical skills and accreditations to the highest levels alongside vendor technical support teams
* Review and recommend training plans as new technologies are added to the product specifications.          Â
Required Knowledge and Experience
* Strong experience in product solutions
* Proven experience in architecting and deploying complex infrastructure solutions
* Proven experience of leading infrastructure projects
* Experience of managing relationships with customers, vendors and third parties to deploy innovative design solutions, develop relationships , opportunities and manage problems
* Strong commercial and competitor awareness
* Have has responsibility for financial budgets and targets
Software
Working Knowledge and demonstrable exposure of the following technologies –
* Microsoft products, in particular Active Directory and Exchange
* Virtualisation Technologies such as VMWare and Hyper V
* Strong Citrix Presentation Server & Xen range skills
* Symantec and Commvault Storage Software
Hardware
SAN Infrastructure, Server and Storage Infrastructure – (Primarily Netapp, HP & Dell)
 Communications
Understanding and involvement with Network Configuration
