Athlone is the OSS (Operations Support System) headquarters within Ericsson and main development centre for OSS and the OSS RC Product Line.

We require a Systems Engineer with experience in Ethernet and IP Network Management for our site based in Athlone.

Responsibilities

Job Summary & Purpose:

• Development of Telecom Management Software suites for Mobile and Broadband Networks
• Large scale software development projects with opportunities in a number of areas in the early part of the development cycle
• Customer Requirements Analysis and Solution proposals
• Management of Ethernet and IP Network domains
• Leading edge Java-based Distributed System Development using latest tools and development technologies
• Full development life cycle design

Skills Required

The successful candidates will have good communication and documentation skills with 2-3 years of experience in the following areas:
• Proven experience in software development;
• Systems analysis, problem isolation, diagnosis, and resolution;
• Software modeling, design, and test of Telecommunication Management Systems;
• Experience in Network planning and readiness of Ethernet and IP Domains
• Experience in Service Provisioning and Service Assurance of Ethernet and IP Domains
• OOAD techniques/Software development either using Java or C++;
• Database engineering – e.g. Sybase, Oracle;
• Positions require a university degree in Computer Science or other degree plus equivalent experience;
• Linux or Unix Administration Certification or equivalent experience is preferred;
• Open Systems technical competence is essential with several years experience preferred;
• OSS operation and/or development experience a prerequisite
• Eclipse, SOA, Agile Development experience beneficial
