Sybase DBA providing technical leadership in the development, maintenance and management of database environments to ensure that integrity, security, availability and capacity is maintained in order to meet service standards and the agreed needs of the business. Also responsible for ensuring the resolution of high priority/complex incidents and coaching/mentoring of other team members.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Extensive technical experience in delivering database services. Responsible for the configuration, management, administration and monitoring of production and development database systems and their associated software.

 Participate in the design, planning and implementation of projects in conjunction with project teams.

 Review and analyse systems to identify opportunities for improvement and increase efficiencies.

 Play a key role in the Business Continuity Process/Disaster Recovery.
Experience:
 2 years Sybase DBA experience
 Sybase Database Administration (ASE 12.5 or higher, Rep 12.0 or higher) & UNIX Shell scripting
 Degree in Computer Science or equivalent qualification
 Excellent communication skills
 Track record of troubleshooting and investigating complex database issues
 Ability to display sound judgement in decision making
 High level of service delivery and customer focused
Desirable:
 Informix Database Administration
 Exposure to UNIX & SAN environment
