Storage & Backup Administrator – 1 year fixed term contract – Galway

My client, a leading global consultancy in the provision of managed IT services, now has an urgent requirement for a talented Storage & Backup Administrator for one of their client sites based in Galway. The successful candidate will have strong technical knowledge in Storage & Backup technology and will provide day to day support for the complete Storage & Backup domain. You will also play a part in designing solutions for new projects.

Requirements:

* Responsible for provisioning storage on EMC VMAX; VNX; Isilon, XBrick and DMX platforms.
* Symantec NetBackup, PureDisc and EMC DataDomain experience vital.
* Familiar with EMC features involving thin provisioning, Brocade SAN (FOS (Fabric OS)), FCoE, during migrations.
* Knowledgeable on both CLI and GUI interfaces with EMC VMAX.
* Demonstrated proficiency in working with Brocade SAN FOS (7.x) and NPIV, again both via CLI and GUI.
* Deliver technical services to maintain and support client’s Storage infrastructure.
* Provide in-depth knowledge around installing, troubleshooting and maintaining Storage systems.
* Communicate with customers in order to to troubleshoot problems (large corporate environment).
* Work independently / as a team member across a number of projects with many challenges.
* Proven ability in writing technical documentation with superior interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred technical skillset:

* Platforms: EMC VMAX 40k; VNX; Isilon, XBrick, and DMX with Brocade SAN switches.
* Backup – Symantec NetBackup & EMC Data Domain
* Virtualization: vMWare
* Several experience in Storage & Backup Administration with specialization on EMC Storage & Symantec NetBackup products
