STORAGE ADMINISTRATOR KERRY

Our Client located in Tralee Co. Kerry, requires a Storage Administrator to assist in the management of EMC VMAX arrays in remote datacenters. This position will be part of a global team supporting storage provisioning, changes, projects and troubleshooting.

Duties & Responsibilities:

•Working with other system administrators coving the entire storage I/O stack across platforms, applications and levels of virtualization.
•Storage provisioning and related troubleshooting
•Contributing to project work for installations and upgrades
•Data protection, risk mitigation and automation

Experience & Knowledge Requirements:

•Storage array management experience (minimum three years) with at least one year managing VMAX or DMX arrays
•Fluency in SYMCLI command set
•An understanding of SAN switch zoning Automation of tasks via shell or Perl scripting
•Understanding of factors affecting I/O performance in a replicated environment
•Ability to determine and manage risk
•Ability to overcome technical challenges on your own or with vendor assistance Good communication skills both verbal and written Proactive and capable of owning an issue to completion Ability to manage your own time with minimal oversight

Desired Experience:

•System administration using Linux (Red Hat), ESX/VSphere, Windows, AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, OpenVMS or Tru-64.
•Provisioning of storage to hardware platforms of IBM P5 and P7, Cisco UCS, IBM Bladecenters and HP Intel and Itanium.
•EMC storage management tools: ECC, Performance Manager, SMC, SPA, ESRA, SCA, DPA, Powerpath TimeFinder and DPA HP storage management tools – EVA Commandview, SSSU, HP-SIM RSP and RSM.
•Any experience with Data Domain, SourceOne, Greenplum, VPLEX, TSM, or Netbackup.
•Tivoli Monitoring
