SQL Developer / DBA

My client, a leading Irish software company with a reputation for providing outstanding technological capability is now recruiting urgently for an expert SQL candidate.

You will be a skilled developer with expert SQL and ETL skills.

Key Responsibilities:
* Design and implementation of robust, scalable and efficient database systems
* Query optimisation and performance tuning of existing applications
* ETL processes for database and data warehouse processing
* Specifying and assessing database hardware requirements.
* Platform operates on SQL Server 2005 and 2008 , also import data from multiple sources including Oracle and Pervasive.

Required Skills
* At least 4 years development experience in SQL Server Technology.
* Excellent knowledge of SQL Server 2005 and 2008 including query optimisation and performance tuning
* Excellent knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services
* Basic DBA skills such as backup, recovery, database sizing and analysis of hardware requirements
* Experience with Oracle 10g or later
* Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, ability to understand complex problems and to generate appropriate technical solutions.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).

Desired Skills
* Experience with building OLAP Cubes with SQL Server Analysis Services an advantage
* Experience in designing SSRS reports against relational databases and cubes.
* Proven experience in designing and developing large data warehouses, including Data modelling

* Exposure to Agile Development Methodologies.
