SQL DEVELOPER

SQL DEVELOPER (SQL SERVER 2000 OR 2005) -DUBLIN – 6 MONTHS

SQL Developer works as part of the Global Reporting team and is the global technical lead for reporting development on the account. The main responsibilities of this role are support and development of contractual reports, ad-hoc customer and account reports, development and enhancement to current reporting tools or web sites and handling reporting based RFS work.

Technical Overview

The primary reporting tool used on the account is called Publisher, a bespoke application developed in house designed to meet a wide number of customer requirements. This tool has a SQL Server backend which connects to multiple data sources such as Remedy, NetIQ, MS Exchange, capacity, back-up (Bocada) and security data. The user interface is web based (dot net), allowing users to run, schedule, view and output reports online. The majority of reports are created via single or multiple SQL Server Stored Procedures.

The reporting team is also responsible for a Global Reporting Portal Website. This is also database driven and provides links and information to reports, reporting tools and other online systems such as Remedy. All updates to this website are operated via configuration settings in the database.

Responsibilities

* Creation, support and maintenance of contractual SLA and Operational Reports
* Support and maintenance of Publisher website
* Investigate data queries raised by customers
* Support and maintenance of Global Reporting Portal website
* Creation of ad-hoc reports required internally or by the account. Primarily Remedy Incident, Change, Problem and CMDB based reports.
* Maintenance of the SQL Server databases which manage reporting data
* Collaborate with other technical resources, e.g. SSO, AT&T
* Produce technical solutions and quotes for reporting based RFS (Request For Service)
* Develop solutions related to RFS

Essential Skills:

SQL Server 2000 or 2005 to DBA standard.
Proficient in Stored Procedure programming (TSQL)
Experience with Oracle SQL
Understanding of web based technologies
Proficient in MS Excel

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of Remedy
Business Objects XI – Ideally experienced in both report design and Universe design
