Software Test Analyst

Hudson IT & Telecoms are seeking an experienced Software Test Analyst to work on a 6-12 month Fixed Term contract in Northern Ireland.

You will be responsible for system testing and quality of software applications.

Principle Duties:

* Identify test cases, execute assigned test cases, record results of test execution and log defects in the defect management system.
* Produce and review estimates during planning.
* Help negotiate quality criteria with customers and vendors, and clarify any scenarios/use cases used in the production of tests.
* Ensure system tests (functional, load, stress, performance, compatibility, installation, security, and any other tests not covered by unit and integration tests) verify the quality criteria specified by the customer.
* Develop and maintain automated System Test scripts.
* Write scripts to verify test results.
* Report and document test results within project deadline.
* Work with developers to write effective and thorough unit / integration tests.
* Work with customers to write effective and thorough system tests.
* Act as interface between the validation and development teams ensuring effective communication.
* Ensure system testing keeps pace with development ensuring development and validation team activities are co-ordinated.
* Map tests to requirements ensuring full traceability.
* Demonstrate flexibility towards working hours and providing out of hours support cover.
* Help developers design more testable code through verification activities.

Skills Required:

* Previous experience in software testing.
* Experience in designing, staging, executing and tearing down test environments, and capturing and maintaining test results.
* Experience in analysing software requirements, and developing and executing tests.
* Experience in defining test plans, and creating Test Summary Reports.
* Working knowledge of HP QC.
* Ability to organise, plan and prioritise tasks within a high volume, varied workload, to include ability to work to deadlines.
* Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy in all work carried out.
* Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).

Desireable Skills:

* ISEB Foundation in Software Testing.
* ISEB Intermediate in Software Testing.
* Experience in automated testing of web and windows based applications.
* Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
* Experience of HP QTP.
* Knowledge of HP LoadRunner.

Qualifications:

* GCSE English Language and Mathematics at Grade C or above (or equivalent).
* HNC (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related subject.
