Our client researches and develops innovative, high quality solutions designed to make diagnostic testing more accurate. They are now on the lookout for a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join their team in either Crumlin or Dungloe.

As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, creating and executing software test plans and test cases to ensure the high quality of our client’s products.

Utilising your software quality assurance expertise, you’ll seek to improve the quality, functionality, reliability and usability of our client’s products. Working alongside Design, Software and Hardware Engineers, you’ll plan testing strategies, as well as developing comprehensive test plans with differing design methodologies.

You’ll create, source and acquire data required for each testing assignment and perform thorough test case execution and analysis reporting. Additionally, you’ll work in cross-platform environments and ensure that the results of test cases are accurately recorded.

To be considered for this role, you must have:

– At least two years’ industrial software engineering experience OR a higher level qualification in a computer related discipline
– Experience of at least two of the following programming languages: C#, C++, Delphi, VB and Java
– Proven experience of an issue reporting tool, such as Bugzilla, Microsoft Test Manager or HPQC
– Good knowledge of software testing processes and testing methodologies, such a V-Model, Waterfall and Agile
– Software quality assurance expertise

As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer, you must have excellent problem solving, organisation and prioritisation skills, as well as a great eye for detail and the ability to work independently. The willingness to explore new technologies is also key.
