SoftCo are seeking an outstanding Software QA Manager to guide our expanding QA team. Based in our headquarters in Dublin (South), the successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team working on leading-edge enterprise applications and technologies. Reporting to the Director for Software Development, you will have hands-on responsibility for delivering top quality products to the highest standard.

Your role:
• Responsible for the overall quality of all product development deliverables.
• Define the QA strategy, tools and techniques for new and enhanced products and features.
• Supervise the QA cycle for all product releases.
• Manage the duties and deliverables of the QA team.
• Development of pragmatic test processes ensuring an adequate balance of functional and performance testing is achieved.
• Review and analyse functional specifications, enhancements and change requests.
• Design, develop and execute test scripts for manual and automated testing as needed.
• Bug recording, tracking, regression and closure.
• Analyse and communicate results efficiently and comprehensively to the development team.
• Liaise and support developers and other departments as required on items relating to product quality and technical queries.
• Regular reporting on project progress to all key players

Profile:
• Degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized university or technical college.
• Strong career progression through development and testing incl. exposure in a lead role.
• Experience in an in-house software development and testing environment is a must.
• Proven track record in QA planning and team management.
• Experience in performance, volume and stress testing n-tier enterprise level applications.
• Good understanding of software programming concepts with a strong knowledge of the .NET application platform.
• Solid foundation in the Microsoft Development Platform and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Working knowledge of advanced infrastructure configurations such as clustering, load balancing and DR failover scenarios.
• Familiarity with technologies including WF, WCF, WPF, Silverlight, XAML, XML, SOAP, WSDL, HTML, HTTP, RSS and AJAX is beneficial.
• Ability to understand business drivers and balance business needs, timelines, costs and best practices.
• Solid understanding of project and product lifecycles.
• Assertive, results oriented and deadline driven individual, with a high degree of accountability, commitment and responsibility.
• Experience in testing document management and business process automation applications would be advantageous.
• An eye for detail and a systematic approach to all tasks.
• Fluency in written and spoken English with excellent communication skills.
