Software QA Engineer KERRY

Software QA, Kerry.
We are a blue chip employer located in scenic County Kerry and due to continued expansion we are now hiring an experienced Software QA Tester. This is a permanent full time role based onsite in Kerry.
Role:
You will be fully involved in all aspects of software testing in a Unix environment, focusing in particular on middle tier software. Your role will include tsesting of database schema changes in both oracle and mysql and creating an automated infrastructure for all our applications. You will be involved in maintaining and improving our current test infrastructure and automation procedures. You will agree project schedules with the QA Manager, track progress and report on variances in accordance with the technical roadmap, and you will develop comprehensive quality control procedures i.e. test scripts and plans, for Quality assurance of systems. You will develop test plans that will work to overall project schedule, and co-ordinate the testing and UAT of all released software. You will also be playing a key role in the continued drive to automate our test automation systems, as such you will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining automation tools. You will design and specify what tests can be automated and you will take a proactive role in the implementation of automating our test system.
Required Skills/experience:
The ideal candidates will be an EC citizen already living in Ireland with native level fluency in spoken English, and with a relevant degree (eg BSc Computer Science etc). You should be happy to live and work in Kerry on a long term basis, and you should be an experienced software tester/QA with circa 3-5 years experience, ideally with a test qualification (ISTQB/ ISEB certification). The ideal candidate
will have experience of testing middleware applications and/or will have experience of testing database schemas and data analysis testing. Any exposure to any of the following skills/attributes would all be desirable but are not essential: test automation, Unix scripting, database/SQL (ideally Oracle), web development (eg Java/ JavaScript, Python, Perl), middleware (Tomcat Apache).
