Our client is a very successful software firm based in County Kerry. Due to continued growth in their overseas market, they have retained PBRecruitment to identify a number of experienced software engineer to join their team in Kerry. This is a unique career opportunity for the right candidate. It is a permanent job, with genuine long term career prospects, based full time in Co Kerry. These roles may also be available on a contract basis.

The Role
In this challenging technical role you will be fully involved in all stages of the software development lifecycle, working on the delivery of complex telecoms software from concept through to delivery to the end customer. You will provide support for full software development lifecycle for the delivery of complex telecoms (GSM/GPRS/UMTS) software, from concept through to delivery to end customer. Role will include requirements definition, functional and design specification development. You will provide technical leadership, where required, to less experienced engineers within the group. You will develop code, develop and execute Unit, Integration and System-Level Test Plans. You will be involved in estimation, planning and execution to agreed quality standards and you will agree, define functional interfaces and liaise with Test, Support, Product and Project Management groups.

Required Skills and Experience:
You have a relevant primary degree (Beng/BSc) with a background in the telecoms sector, with significant expertise in software development, either C/C++/Linux, or Java. Expertise in Linux OS kernel and driver development is required. You should have a knowledge of Telecom Standards and Protocols (ie. SS7, GPRS, 3G RNC & Node B interface protocols, MAP, SIGTRAN, and VoIP protocols).
Experience of design/development in any of the following would be advantageous:
Telecoms stack development, Unix Scripting, Tools development, Makefiles.
Experience of design/development in any of the following would be advantageous: telecoms software background, unix scripting, tools development, Makefiles, Tomcat.
