Software Engineer

Major multinational company with over a billion dollars in revenue are currently planning an exciting new project for Galway. They have a major European presence and are focused on the cardiac care arena having developed and continue to develop leading technology for use in cardiac intervention and surgery.They are currently seeking to set up a leading edge Research & Development and Manufacturing facility for a flag ship Business Unit in Ireland. In order to move this project forward they are sourcing a number of experienced personnel in Engineering including Manufacturing, Project management, Mechanical, R&D, Electrical and Software.

SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Responsibilities:

Working as part of the Software Technical team this person will be responsible for the design, implementation, testing and documentation.

Complete assigned technical tasks in the design and development of real time embedded, or application computer system software including:

Design (including contributions to architecture and module organization)
Implementation of deliverables
Documentation of deliverables
Engineering Studies and Testing
Technical Interface to other departments
Associate Engineer Development and support
Responsible for product design and development life cycle phases to help ensure product quality, manufacturability, reliability and cost effectiveness

Ensure that work product meets FDA and other Regulatory Standards as designated by company Policies and Design Control Procedures.

Keep track of industrial trends in applicable applications and technologies, including practices and engineering tools.

Communicate effectively with Product Development, Marketing, Manufacturing and Management.

Requirements:

BS & MSc in Computer Science or Engineering required.

1-2 years experience as a Project Engineer within medical device using Embedded C and/or C++

Demonstrated SW design skills and strong understanding of Software Engineering Fundamentals.

Ideally have advanced coding skill in at least 1 major language.

Strong experience in regulations and standards effecting medical product development.

Strong knowledge of software development tools (IDE, CM, Bug Tracking etc…).

Ability to work as part of a team.
