NEW role! Our client is currently looking for a Software Development Manager (Project Manager) to join their company for the 6 months contract. Great opportunity to work within Multinational company based in Galway.
The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills coupled with strong motivation for working in a highly customer-focused environment. The individual should have experience managing Agile projects, a strong technical background and be willing to act in a hands-on capacity where necessary. You will work closely with the delivery team to elicit requirements, develop a technical design, define scope, estimate tasks, and implement the solution.
Position: Software Development Manager/ Project Manager
Location: Galway
Salary: DOE
Responsibilities:
Work with US based product team to define the product roadmap, release scope and requirements
Budgetary management of the project including business planning, day to day cost management.
Provide coaching to the team including taking the role of scrum master.
Resolve issues and/or identify approaches to solutions including identification, management and mitigation of issues and risks.
Provide timely and accurate status to all stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or related discipline.
At least 10 years overall experience in the IT sector with 5 years people & project management experience.
Experience managing Agile development teams in the financial services sector would be a distinct advantage.
Experience managing a product development team in the following technologies – UI (WPF), Middletier (Java), backend (Oracle).
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Proven project management skills – risk assessment & mitigation, project planning and tracking, working to agreed budgets, status reporting.
Experience working in a global development model.
Possess demonstrated customer orientation.
Ability to adapt to a dynamic business environment.
Strong customer facing and relationship management skills.
Proven problem solving skills.
Strong design and estimation skills
Ability to travel to the US on occasion.
