Software Developer in Test – Contract

We are looking for a highly motivated software developer with a creative, inquisitive, and explorative mind, and great passion for shipping quality software that will impact millions of users.
Join us and be part of Microsoft’s new Bing search platform. We are dedicated to creating the next generation of web search technologies that will redefine the experience of searching the web.
From day one you will be responsible for putting in place test infrastructure and processes and performing hands-on test automation code development. We are seeking a proven contributor with a great track record of delivering complex software releases on time and with a very high quality bar.
You'll be helping to build applications and services for millions of users worldwide. We follow agile methodologies and stay abreast of all technology trends. And we release fast and often, so you'll quickly see the impact of your work.
This position is based in Microsoft's European Development Center in Dublin, Ireland, and works closely with Microsoft teams in the US and around the world.
Core requirements:
• Strong object-oriented programming skills in C++ and C#
• At least 4 years of relevant product development and testing experience
• Experience with the use of test frameworks, UI automation, web automation, and writing test plans
• Experience of non-functional testing (performance, scalability, reliability, etc)
• Experience of working with large teams on large and complex code bases
• Great blend of technology background, passion to learn, and customer focus
• Energy and desire to deliver high-quality software on aggressive schedules
• Strong English verbal and written communication skills
• A university computer science degree or equivalent
Other experience that would be a plus for this position:
• Demonstrated expertise and experience in semantic web technologies and/or data visualization techniques
• Experience with search engines and related technologies
• Technical fluency in large scale web application development using ASP.NET, AJAX, CSS, JavaScript and Silverlight
• Database fundamentals (preferably with MS SQL)
• Experience with agile development methodologies
• Experience of working closely with remote teams
• Masters/PhD degree in computer science or equivalent field
