Senior Unix Developer for initial 6 month contract
Job Description
A large Retail Organisation is currently recruiting a Unix Developer with shell scripting, awk scripting and sed scripting on MKS running on a Windows Environment. Strong knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL required.
Principal Responsibilities
• Liase with end-users and other stakeholders to refine business requirements
• Code applications using PL/SQL in a unix environment
• Adhere to coding conventions, established application design and development methods
• Give strong attention to detail
• Provide on going maintenance and product support of systems
Essential Requirements
• Extensive Unix Shell Scripting and Awk and sed scripting.
• At least 4 years experience required in Relational database development with very strong SQL skills using Oracle (preferable)
• Experience using reporting tools crystal or brio
• Experience in working productively in a team environment
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to take ownership
• Strong analytical experience
Ideal Skills
• Previous experience working in a retail environment
• Experience in performance tuning SQL queries
