Senior Solution Architect – 6 month Contract

This leading provider of telecommunication and information technology services currently has an opportunity for a Senior Solution Architect to join the team for a period of 6 months. The Solution Architect will be responsible for specifying the optimum technical and most cost effective solution architectures for mobile, fixed, core network & infrastructure technologies.

Responsibilities
Take architectural ownership of specific elements of the overall system
Provide technology expertise and consultancy across the wider group
Ensure the capacity of the key platforms is considered in solution designs in order to meet future demand
Work closely with Principal Design Architects from across the group, ensuring best practice & most cost effective solution design is the norm
Influence commercial decisions to ensure optimal alignment with technical capabilities
Work closely with strategic vendors, adopting a partnership approach and intelligently getting the best out of the vendors for the groups benefit

Skills
Self starter with strong communication skills, capable of managing vendors and stakeholders
Ability to deliver to deadlines and technology architectural solutions within objective led parameters
Drive a commercial focus in vendor interactions to ensure that value for money is achieved
Commercially aware, able to understand and communicate in common business/financial language
Able to explain complex technical issues in simple language
Track record in implementing architectures or systems that have been driven improvement in business performance
Up to date with current and future development in the IT and telecommunications industry and able to demonstrate how these can be applied for business benefit

Qualifications
3rd Level Degree in Telecommunications discipline
Working knowledge of Architecture Frameworks (TOGAF)
3-5 years experience in the role of Senior Technology Architect
Exposure to and application of system standards such as LTE, 3GPP, eTOM
