Senior Quality Assurance Engineer – Software required with 6 years plus in a commercial software development environment. Galway
Responsibilities:
Take a lead role in design and implementation of the test strategy for a complete UC product.
Authoring of Test Plans, Test Specifications and Test Cases both manual and automated.
Creating, maintaining and executing automated and manual test suites to verify UC software releases including load, scalability and performance test scenarios.
Proactive technical liaison with designers and software developers to develop and evolve QA’s understanding of product features and design changes in order to establish test criteria.
Assuming QA responsibility for a significant piece of product functionality and testing it in an autonomous fashion with minimal day to day direction from a more senior colleague.
Define and maintain test metrics, creating defect reports, troubleshoot issues and ensuring that software is tested to agreed quality criteria.
To contribute to the ongoing development of the test automation function, including promoting best industry practices.
A keen ability to understand how the software was developed, in order to devise insightful test scenarios is important
Requirements:
Previous experience testing UC products with at least 6+ year’s industry experience in a commercial software development environment.
Past record of testing significant pieces of functionality on previous projects.
Strong knowledge testing products in a Linux environment.
Experience with Test Automation Tools (Silktest, Webload, Rational Functional Tester, QTP, Selenium, SOAP UI etc.)
Working knowledge of a scripting language and the ability to create automated test scripts in a scripting language (Shell, Perl, Python etc).
Knowledge of enterprise telecommunications systems and IP Telephony protocols including at least some of the following SIP, H.323, RTP, XMPP, SIP/Simple.
Knowledge and experience of the full software development life cycle.
Excellent analytical skills, ability to understand complex problems and to generate appropriate solutions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in cross-functional project teams
Capable of accurately planning and scheduling own work and that of other engineers
Ability to cope with changing priorities and multiple assignments
Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with peers.
Ability to act on your own initiative and be a self-starter.
