Senior/Principal SoC Architect
We are a successful hi-tech design services company based in Cork and Dublin which offers our customers around the globe with advanced low-power RF, Mixed Signal, Digital and Systems Level design services, best-in-class SoC solutions and single chip RF SoC solutions.
Role:
This is a permanent role which can be based in either Dublin or Cork, at the job holder’s discretion. Reporting to the Director of Engineering in our Silicon Services Business Line, the successful candidate will be responsible for playing a key leadership and individual contributor role, in an experienced team undertaking architecture, design, verification and implementation of complex analog/digital SoC solutions.

Required Experience and Qualifications:
You should have an honours degree or post-graduate qualification in Electronic Engineering and have at least 8 years’ experience in large ICs/system-on-chip specifications, architectures and designs, including direct experience in converting customer requirements into detailed technical specifications. A proven track record in complete IC design flows would be an advantage: IC architecture design and modelling; IP evaluation and selection, RTL design, advanced functional verification techniques, low power design, DfT, physical design, device validation, characterisation and qualification.
Technical project leadership skills and experience in guiding a multidisciplinary engineering team through the design implementation with a track record of successful project completion would be a desirable background for this role.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the interdependencies between requirements and implementation, embedded software and hardware, ICs and their board level environment.
In addition, any of the following attributes would also be desirable: Die-size estimation and modelling the trade-offs between functionality and die-size and package selection; experience in evaluating, interfacing to and integrating analog IP; knowledge on on-chip bus architectures, embedded processors, cache architectures, software and hardware debug support and modelling data flows at the chip level; familiarity with the major semiconductor process nodes and their relative advantages and disadvantages.
