Senior Network Engineer

My client has just contacted me looking for a Senior Network Engineer for their office in Dun Laoghaire. Below is an outline of the role for you to look over. Main responsibilities
Responsible for the daily administration of key network and security infrastructure in addition to acting as a key resource on network infrastructure projects as required.

Managing network infrastructure such as firewalls, switches, routers, load balancers, intrusion detection systems, network scanning and change control auditing.

The network engineer will be expected to respond to, troubleshoot and investigate network and security incidents and to review and audit changes to production environments.

Skills Required
least 3 years recent experience of dedicated network and information security infrastructure is required.
Build and maintenance of Cisco firewalls.
On-going management of firewall and loadbalancer changes.
Implementation, documentation and troubleshooting of network configurations, ensuring security and redundancy.
Solid experience of OSPF, BGP, Router redundancy protocols, VPN, ISDN, MPLS, Spanning-tree, VTP and network device security hardening will be particularly valued.
Management and tuning of Intrusion Detection Systems, knowledge of network vulnerability scanning & change audit tools and appropriate response to alerts/threats.
Detailed knowledge and experience of network monitoring and troubleshooting.
Change management and change implementation in High Availability Enterprise environments.
