Senior LAN Engineer – Outstanding opportunity

Negotiable

You will join the European Support team charged with managing almost 2,000 European customers. You will need to provide:

· Second level technical support to IT staff
· Work with European local LAN staff in technical support, provide documentation and possible training.
· Proactive systems management through the use of tools such as ESM, ISS, McAfee EPO, HP Sitescope
· Troubleshoot complex IT queries and providing a rapid response to customer phone calls and emails.
· Support Production Citrix Environments, ZenApp 5.0 – Desktop
· Support European Unix Environment Sun Solaris 2.8 and 2.9
Skills / Knowledge Required

• Minimum five years experience in Local Area Network Management to include three years working in a Unix environment with particular focus on Sun Solaris.
• Strong Knowledge of Citrix Xenapp (Xenapp PS 4.5), backup software -, Legato and Backup Exec.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization solutions – VMWARE ESX, VirtualCenter and XenServer.
• Strong Knowledge of disk storage solutions and fiber switches, SAN (ECM / HP) – design, setup and administration.

Strong Knowledge of LAN, (LAN, TCP/IP, DNS, WINS), Microsoft Certified Professional in Windows 2000/XP/2003/2008 with an strong understanding of LAN/WAN networking communications technology is necessary.Strong Knowledge of blade servers (DELL and HP) technologi Strong Knowledge of DELL, HP and SUN mid-range servers including skills with RAID and boot-from-s
Knowledge of Anti Virus technology (ePO and VirusScan), software and best practices.
Experience with Sarbanes Oxley compliance and knowledge of ITIL V3.
Knowledge Microsoft SSCM 2007.
Sun Solaris Experience to include Strong background in Server Builds, OS installations, Configurations, Patch and package upgrades. Working knowledge of Legato, Iplanet and Websphere a distinct advantage
Disaster Recovery planning
Knowledge of Servers and PCs to include setup, installations, configuration, monitoring and maintenance.
Strong organization, communication, analytical, decision making skills.
Relevant third level qualification and qualification in a computer related discipline, MSCE preferred
