The role requires some flexibility in terms of location. You will be required to spend time on-site in Athlone at the beginning of the project, after which you will be based in Dublin with 1-2 days in Athlone each week. 

About the Role:

Our customer is looking for a Senior Java engineer with strong Linux systems knowledge – to work in a small dedicated team to design and implement solutions to integration problems in a distributed systems environment. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of providing a leading technical role in large multi-team projects. They will have strong analytical and design skills allied with good technical communication. The role will also involve identification and escalation of issues toward the relevant third party supplier and liaising with the vendor to resolve.

Experience Required:

• Experience in JEE especially in a JBoss/Wildfly environment
• Experience of working in an Agile environment
• Familiarity with Linux systems – network level analysis of load and latency
• Experience with JBoss clustered deployment (UDP & TCP)
• Linux experience with tools and utilities for analysis of network performance
• Understanding and experience with HornetQ, JMS
