Senior IT Infrastructure Specialist

Engaging in infrastructure design, architecture, network planning and senior technical systems administration tasks – this role requires you to be both hands-on technical, business / strategic focus and tactical savvy when it comes to all-round IT infrastructure solutions.

Recruiting exclusively for this international organisation, we are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Infrastructure Specialist, ideally with Citrix skills, to take responsibility for documenting, designing, supporting and managing the technical infrastructure (covering Citrix, Windows Servers, Exchange, VMware, networking, security and related areas.) of a subsidiary of this organisation.

Reporting directly into the Global Head of IT for the subsidiary, you will also be expected to be able to provide 3rd level support, resolving complex issues across all aspects of the IT infrastructure as well as the ability to think tactically.

The environment is a fully virtualised infrastructure running Citrix and as such, Citrix expertise is desirable.

Apart from technical expertise, you will need to be able to demonstrate strategic thinking ability, as one of the major projects you will be working on is a decoupling of the Irish Subsidiary’s Infrastructure from the Group company’s infrastructure, with the chance to build a new infrastructure to meet the specific needs of the Irish subsidiary.

You must have prior experience in infrastructure architecture design, datacentre operations and managing 3rd party vendors as well as excellent hands-on technical expertise in the core areas of Citrix, virtualised environments, Active Directory, Networking and overall Technical Infrastructure.

Reporting directly into the Head of IT, you must have the following experience:

* Senior / Significant experience in a demanding senior IT infrastructure specialist, Technical Architecture / IT Engineer or Senior Systems Administration role
* Excellent all-round IT infrastructure technical knowledge, including infrastructure design and delivery and documentation
* Knowledge of infrastructure industry trends such as Cloud Computing – IaaS, PaaS and other emerging technologies
* Ability to run own Infrastructure environment within a corporate environment with minimal guidance
* Vendor management
* Must be an excellent communicator and an effective problem solver with an ability to motivate technical teams
* Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally to a wide range of people at all levels
* Able to work in a virtual team environment
* In-depth technical knowledge of the following is required:

Active Directory, Domain Controllers and Group Policy configuration

Microsoft Exchange 2010 / Office 365

Enterprise virtual desktop solutions – Citrix XenApp 5/6

Virtualised Environments (VMWare)

Ideally expertise in Citrix Xenapp desktop and server

Databases – SQL Server

Windows Server 2008 & 2012 r2

SAN, DAS, Servers, SCCM, Hyper V

Load Balancing Hardware, Security technologies such as Firewall and VPN

Networking – MPLS, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routers and switches

Salary Package = €60-70K + benefits
