Senior Infrastructure Architect – Cork

Our Cork based client currently has an exciting opening for an Infrastructure architect. This is a Full Time role with Salary DOE. The successful candidate will provide expert technical subject matter expertise across the breadth of technologies and solutions such as desktop, data centre, server, storage, network, database, security and any other infrastructures. The successful candidate will be responsibility for Product Delivery, Service Delivery, Leadership and Development and Health and Safety.

Duties Include:

Development of architectural strategy, including technology standardization and modernization. Align architecture strategy with business needs. Ensure infrastructure project portfolio factored into 3 year plans
Ensure the exploitation of IT across the enterprise is effective and efficient
Define infrastructure architecture principles, standards, and templates
Define infrastructure solutions and designs: overview and vision, conceptual, component and physical architectural models.
Strategically analyze the risks, benefits, and opportunities associated with a solution. Review designs for standards and compliance
Creation of business case for infrastructure projects
Produce design documents to effectively hand over infrastructure architecture to other Operations departments for successful systems engineering and implementation
Consolidation, Rationalisation & Simplification of the clients technical infrastructure.
Understand industry standards and best practices, keeping current with industry trends and emerging technologies

Qualifications:
• Third Level IT or Engineering Qualification
• Experienced in Service Management and ITIL processes

Technical Knowledge and Experience:
• Expansive Experience of systems management in a 24 x 7 highly available environment, including ITIL best practices;
• Technical leadership role in delivering IT systems and solutions across a wide variety of infrastructure areas such as Desktop, Data Centre, Networks, Servers, Storage, Databases, IT Security;
• Familiarity with architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF), standards and principles
• Service delivery, Team leadership and Project lead experience
• A good understanding of business operations and the commercial viability

• Self motivated with the ability to work under own initiative, with strong attention to detail;
