Reporting to the lead architect, this Senior DBA will be head of the DBA team that services both the Viewpoint and the research platform. Tis role will also have responsibility for managing the database domain for the company.

Overview of the responsibilities of the .NET Web Developer:
• Manage and maintain the production and UAT databases.
• Support data-related requests from staff (emphasis on software development and client services teams)
• Build tools (in SQL Server) to make daily database duties and support easier to perform
• Own all aspects of production data that is loaded and stored in the production database
• Be fully aware of the database structure and the data that resides in that structure
• Be an integral part of developing and deploying improvements to the production databases and database servers.
• Providing an upgrade path for database services such as SQL Server, DTS and Report Server
• Supplying statistics on the performance of the database to GL staff
• Participate in system and user acceptance testing
• Participate in the deployment of our applications to production. This includes deployment during weekends (usually once a month) on a rotational basis with the junior DBA.
• Mentor our junior DBA
• Provide off-hours support on a rotational basis with the junior DBA.
• Develop and enhance the company’s Data Warehouse and BI capabilities
• Participate in the development process for the company’s various applications providing database and data-centric expertise.
Skills
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science Preferred) or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of MS SQL Server Administration Experience for a commercial application.
• 8+ years of hands-on SQL Coding Experience
• 4+ years of experience working with a software development team
• Strong knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, backup and recovery topology
• Experience with logical and physical data modelling with knowledge of database design techniques for OLTP and data warehouse environments
• Expert SQL Scripting skills
• SQL Server 2005 and 2008 experience a must
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience in BI
• Microsoft .NET experience is a big plus
