Script Developer/ Tester

The role requires some flexibility in terms of location. You will be required to spend time on-site in Athlone at the beginning of the project, after which you will be based in Dublin with 1-2 days in Athlone each week. 

 About the Role:

Our customer requires Test Automation Developers to automate test and tools for the newly-architected OSS solution based on Linux. The candidate will need to have previous and proven experience in BASH/Python development, test automation for the scripts and broad technical skillset. The candidate needs to be adaptable in an environment where change is the only constant and keep pace with technology trends and application requirements.

Experience Required:

• Writing, testing, reviewing of BASH/Python scripts
• Technical analysis of scripts to identify improvements, test scenarios, best practices, tools and requirements
• Strong debugging and problem analysis skills
• Development of tools that automate system & test tasks
• Automation of function, integration and performance tests for existing scripts
• Integration of tools and test code into Jenkins-based continuous integration loop
• Development of tools to assist with product install, configuration, upgrade and monitoring
• Analysis of product (such as availability, recoverability, upgradability, etc.)
• Manual testing when and where needed
• Knowledge of and experience with the following are essential:
• BASH Scripting and Python 2.x
• UNIX tools (bash, grep, awk, sed, etc.)
• Web Technologies (JS, HTTP, REST, etc.)
• Linux (preferably Red Hat and/or derivative distributions)
• Experience with Maven
• Experience of Java 6 SE (EE is a plus)
• Familiarity of Git (including gerrit), IP Networking (IPv4 & IPv6)

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with JIRA, Jenkins, JMeter
• The candidate must exhibit strong skills with bash script, Python development, Linux system administration, debugging and problem solving
• The successful candidate should have a BSc degree or comparable experience
