Research and Development – Sensory Co-ordinator

Sensory Co-ordinator – R&D, £18-20k, Ballymena, 14 month contract – immediate start

My client is seeking a Sensory Co-ordinator to join their team for a 14 month maternity contract cover to carry out the following duties:

Supervise the team of technicians in the sensory Dept to ensure optimal service standards
Conduct the statistical analysis of the data, writing reports and presenting to both (RandD) customers.
Conduct language development and design andrevise test methodologies.
To ensure proper administrative and IT system to support Sensory business by managing and developing databases
To coordinate and conduct sensory evaluations for QDA panel.
To provide expert statistical support to other sections within R and D e.g. experimental design, validation protocols.

Skills and experience required:
* University degree with high level statistical component and experience in Product Development arena.
* Experience in statistical methods and report writing.
* Excellent PC skills (SAS, SPSS, MS Office, Access, OMR, MS Project).
* Very good knowledge of Databases (Access, Fizz).
* High level of statistical skills and specific knowledge of statistical software (SAS, SPSS).
* Very good communication, organization skills and presentation skills.
* Knowledge of sensory areas.

 Requirements of the Role:

Supervise staff within the Sensory Team to ensure timely, accurate and focussed reporting of results. 
* Ensure all procedures and processes are followed and improve on these when required.
* Perform the statistical analysis (inc. product maps) of the sensory projects including written reports on the findings and also presentations when requested.
* Conduct and coordinate sensory evaluations for QDA Panel (contact panellists, collect and distribute sensory samples, account and allocate incentives).
* Conduct panel training and recruitment of the various panels.
* Ensure a constant proper testing environment of sensory laboratory.
* To provide expert statistical support to other sections within R&D, such as, experimental design and validation protocols.
* Maintain project-filing system of Sensory Group in alignement with Trier.
