Job Overview
The Fund Accounting teams use proprietary software to independently value client’s portfolios. The role will be to work within the Application Support team who are charged with all aspects of the setup and maintenance of this software.
This role is primarily focused on providing technical support for the client's proprietary reconciliation application, management of the receipt and transmission of files via FTP and the mapping of files from 3rd parties.
This involves writing and maintaining XML based workflows and creating and maintaining ‘maps’. Maps are managed using software called Cosmos and include the use of a proprietary programming language similar to VB.
They will also assist in the further development of the Clients applications and processes by understanding the requirements of the NAV teams and the functioning of the Clients systems.
Responsibilities
Resolve support tickets logged by the application users in a timely manner.
Create XML workflows to process files coming from external sources.
Create file transformation maps using Cosmos software.
Work with brokers on file delivery setup and maintenance.
Testing of new application features.
Requirements
Strong programming experience including data and logical structures,
Strong MS Excel skills. Experience of formulas and external data imports.
Good knowledge of database design and SQL
Experience using XML for data storage, including traversing and parsing XML.
Strong knowledge of File Transfer Protocol.
Experience with data encryption, preferably using PGP.
Some knowledge of financial products an advantage
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to be flexible and work effectively both within a team structure or independently.

Good initiative tempered with identifying when escalation is required.
