Quality Engineer

We are currently seeking to recruit a Quality Engineer to join a leading, international manufacturer at their County Antrim head quarters.

The successful candidate will report to the Quality Engineering Team Leader within the Technical Services Department and be responsible for:

 
* Facilitating Root cause and corrective actions for both internal and external quality issues and concerns.
* Maintaining a high emphasis on implementing Interim Corrective Actions with respect of quality problems.
* Implementing quality improvement tools such as 8D and one page DMAIC by the participation in Cross Functional Teams.
* Maintaining and Improving Our Core Customer Acceptance Validation (CAV) Processes.
* Participating in Product and Process Quality Improvement initiatives.
* Facilitating and Auditing the Caterpillar Manufacturing Quality Certification program (MQ12005)
* Review and approval of area Control Plans, In-Process Validation, Quality Gate and Pre-Delivery Checklists
* Conducting random audits to monitor and validate In-Process Validation, Quality Gates and production process capability
* Conducting random quality audits on finished product and take part in formal Pre-Delivery Audits
* Analysing Operations Quality performance data and metrics.

* Support for New Product Introduction projects through all stages of the Product Development Process.
* Support for Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Product Part Approval Process (PPAP).

 Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a Quality related position, to include: 
* Experience of supporting quality within a production/assembly line
* Experience in delivering quality improvement projects
* Experience of quality tools to include FMEA

 Successful candidates will be computer literate and have a working knowledge of Quality Systems e.g. ISO 9001

A degree/HND in Engineering or manufacturing discipline would be desirable.

Exposure to the 6 Sigma process would also be advantageous, as would experience and knowledge of Advanced Product Qualification Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PAPP).
