QA Tester – Contract

Our client in Galway is currently seeking a QA Tester for a 6 Month Contract.

Interested candidates must have:

Experience in Web Service Testing
Test Environment and Data Challenges experience
Performance Testing experience
Worked as a sole tester

This quality assurance (QA) testing role will focus on the full functional testing lifecycle for various functional application testing initiatives for CRS and Research Browser, in tandem with the Sr. QA Engineer currently on the team. This includes defining test strategies, developing test plans, creation of test cases, test execution, and results reporting. Responsibilities will also include working closely with a US-based QA Director for QA process definition and a US-based Business Analysis team for requirements definition.

This individual-contributor role requires strong attention-to-detail, analytical skills, organizational skills, and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with developers, business analysts, and system administrators.

Primary RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create test plans and corresponding test cases to ensure thorough testing of business requirements in a fast-paced Agile environment.
Test case execution, defect documentation and tracking, and regression through all system tiers.
Proactively communicate with developers and business analysts to resolve issues or questions pertaining to test creation or execution
Identify and effectively document a suite of test cases suitable for an automated regression test suite.
Accurate daily status reporting with ScrumMaster, including issues blocking progress when appropriate.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

Degree or equivalent in computer related discipline

Experience, Skills and Knowledge:

5+ years experience with the full spectrum of functional Quality Assurance testing and systems development lifecycles
Experience with testing management utilising HP’s Quality Center including defect tracking, reporting and metrics
Experience using SOAPSonar or similar XML based testing tools
Experience working with web services and XML
Understanding of relational database concepts and experience with SQL as a data mining tool
Knowledge of the Financial Services or Mutual Fund industry
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fluid organisation where priorities shift to respond to changing business needs.

Desireable Skills:
Experience with functional test execution using an Agile development methodology
Experience using test automation tools (esp QTP) and Component-Based testing
Detailed knowledge of investing concepts and various investment vehicles
Experience working in an international, multi-location environment
