QA Test Engineer
The Company
Our client is a world leading brand in security solutions and are seeking to recruit an Automation Test Engineer who wants to develop their career with a market leading company.
Working in the Test department, the job will involve testing of new product or module releases and special projects as required; with particular responsibility for Windows GUI and Web based Software. The Test Engineer will be
Responsible for the full test cycle of small to medium projects with some complexity in a timely manner.
Expected to aid in the reproduction of failure scenarios and support calls
The role
• Design, modify, develop, write and implement Product test suites.
• Participate in the design and specification process
• Develop technical product test plans and documentation
• Identify, raise and track product quality defects
• Participate in debug and design reviews, with good understanding of the product development life cycle process
• Develop specialist knowledge in multiple functional areas
• Record results of all testing undertaken, clearly documenting software / hardware versions if necessary
The person
• BSc Honors Degree Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or combination of education (HND, HNC) or work related experience.
• Practical testing experience of application software
• Understanding of the requirements for functional and non-functional test including regression test.
• Experience in the planning, set up, and maintenance of a Lab test environment
• Excellent diagnostic logic and troubleshooting skills
• Understand new technology and concepts easily
• Familiarity with bug tracking software (i.e. Quality Center, TFS)– identifying, reporting and tracking
• Experience in making recommendations to management regarding software product’s readiness for release
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience of working to a software development Quality Management System
• Experience in performing scalability and performance testing would be an advantage
