Job Description

The Software Tester will be responsible for verification, checking and testing of all software written by the development team as well as writing and executing test plans and test cases. You will be involved in all phases of testing (both manual and automated) including system, integration, ad-hoc & UAT. You will work as part of a team to ensure delivery of high quality system solutions in line with tactical & strategic requirements. Familiarity with testing databases, web, and system integration testing is a must as well as strong technical skills, and excellent knowledge of software testing processes. You will work alongside developers, UI designers, to deliver robust, highly-usable, software solutions to serve our rapidly growing business.

Required Skills & Experience

Excellent testing knowledge & desire to use the latest testing technology and standards.
Strong background of various software testing (Unit, System, Integration, Regression, UAT)
Must have an understanding of programming a working knowledge of .NET and CMS.
Proficient in planning, writing and executing test plans, test cases and test strategies.
Knowledge of test automation and/or UI tools such as Selenium, FitNesse, WATIR with an understanding of the trade-offs between automation and manual testing.
Strong debugging, technical problem solving & analytical skills.

Experience writing bug reports.
A background in web server platforms, such as IIS or Apache.
Experience with Performance & Stress testing.
Ability to take direction and to function independently as needed.
Ability to be inventive and to work without formal specifications.
Demo new features for acceptance.
Some programming language skills.

Educational/Experience Requirements

Minimum 5 years’ experience combined testing & doing similar work.
B.S. degree or higher preferred.
