Project Manager

Job purpose

To partner the business in defining precisely what projects are aiming to achieve, facilitate the design of the best solution and manage the delivery of the solution with a cross-functional team. Projects will include service improvements, operational and process improvements, new product launches and new market developments.

Key responsibilities

· Gain a clear definition of the objectives / problems which the project is designed to achieve or resolve
· Identify stakeholders’ needs and manage expectations
· Set up the project structure, including work breakdown, team structure, planning and reporting
· Prepare and act on project plans, risks and issues logs
· Manage people on the project, ensuring clear ownership in project roles
· Coordinate estimation of resources and budget required
· Deliver regular updates on progress, which identify key issues and actions
· Identify the change and behavioural factors which are needed to make the project real and successful
· Know what’s really going on (informal and formal) and tell people what’s going on (communication steps)
· Ensure project solutions are put into action and deliver real benefits
· Contribute to the development of the Change and project team, by gathering learning and developing other members of the team

Skill set required

· A minimum of 2 years’ experience of managing cross-functional projects, demonstrating aptitude in the relevant principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management from initiation through to implementation
· Experience of managing the conflicting interests of a diverse range of stakeholders
· Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
· Good learner in understanding of how a business works and clearly interpreting the business team’s needs (in relation to a specific project)

· Positive, ‘can do’ attitude, willing to take initiative
· A strong service ethic, focused on the needs of colleagues
· Good facilitator and listener
· Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
· Gets on well with people. Able to interact with colleagues at all levels

Skill set desired

· Experience of managing and influencing people
· Experience of working in financial services or shared service centre
· Experience working on IT and eCommerce projects
· Degree qualified
· Qualification in project management. Able to use MS project
· International experience or languages skills in German, Italian or French
