Role Description

We are specifically looking to hire a consultant with excellent PROGRESS skills for our Managed Services Practice. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years commercial experience and come from a consultancy background. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to cross train to other technologies including Microsoft Sharepoint and .Net.

Essential skills:
Primary responsibilities include involvement in the design, development and support of GUI and web applications based on PROGRESS 4GL and .NET Open Clients.
• Minimum 3 Years Experience with PROGRESS 4GL version 9.x and 10.x
 OpenEdge 4GL Development OR OpenEdge Architect OR OE Studio
• Experience of OpenEdge Enterprise and WorkGroup databases V10.X V9.x
• Knowledge of client/server architecture and GUI application development
• PROGRESS application deployment and user support
• High level of self-motivation
• Experience working to coding standards
• Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills
• Excellent Analytical and interpretive skills
• General technical background including Microsoft Office products

Desirable Experience:
• Previous consultancy experience a distinct advantage.
• Experience with WebServices
• .NET open Client Experience with Microsoft .NET
• Knowledge of Financial Management systems
• Oracle DataServer
• Experience using SVN or other version control application

Education requirement:

IT-related Degree preferred
