PreSales Engineer
Our client is a dynamic telecoms firm with enviable growth and due to this continued growth are now hiring a PreSale Network Engineer. This is a permanent job, based full time on site in Limerick, and with regular travel within Ireland (especially to Dublin). Role:
The successful candidate will be required to work closely with the sales team, while engaging with both existing and new customers to ensure our solutions to the carrier market are built on solid technical foundations, capable of maximising our position in the market and our sales opportunities. This role will be based in our Limerick office with frequent travel to our Dublin office and customer premises.
Responsibilities:
• Be the sales team “Technical Champion”, providing technical expertise throughout te company and externally.
• Ensures documentation for existing products are set.
• Engage in sales strategy discussions with the account team, understanding our customers business, technical and commercial challenges.
• Work closely with the sales team engaging in both existing and new customer opportunities.
• Lead technical qualification customer meetings.
• Forge direct relationships and build rapport with the engineering community in prospective and existing customer accounts.
• Engineer solutions based on customer requirements, providing all relevant design documentation and solution considerations.
• Work as part of the Sales team adding value on tender responses
• Participate with the sales team to obtain customer contract acceptance, work to ensure final documentation for the proposed solution is comprehensive, complete and helps to reduces risk of cancellation by customers prior to acceptance of sold services,
• Develop and present technical sales training for the sales team.
• Work closely, often in a virtual team manner, with different departments and teams to develop product direction and strategy by providing input based on sales team, customer and prospect discussions.
• Maintain an on-going understanding of the managed telecommunications industry.
• Collaborate with Marketing to develop key product / solution messaging and customer-facing content.
• Speak at / deliver presentations and demonstrate products/solutions for external audiences at press events, conferences, road-show, webinars, and other venues.
• Collaborate with executive management team on product strategy and roadmaps.
Key Required Competencies
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications or related technical field.
• Minimum 2 years engineering experience in a sales environment, providing customer solutions, designs and pricing
• Detailed knowledge of LAN/WAN network technologies
• Team player with company and project-oriented initiative.
• Ability to be assertive and persuasive with prospects, clients and colleagues.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills appropriate for both internal and external communication.
• Excellent time management skills to allocate resources across multiple projects.
• Familiarity with MS Visio, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Sales Force familiarity would be a benefit.
• Strong individual contributor requiring minimal direct supervision and able to make decisions demonstrating sound business judgment.
• Fundamental knowledge of voice, video and other data types, application and network security awareness, switching and routing best practices and collocation.
• Innovative and lateral thinker with the tenacity to see things through to a successful outcome.
• Full clean driving license.
