Operations Manager (Value Stream), 60k

We are currently seeking to recruit a Value Stream Manager to join a global engineering firm

Reporting to the site lead you will be responsible for;

* Leading and running the Value Stream.
* Accountable for Production, Capacity and Management
* Project execution aligned with Project deliverables and deadlines
* Ensuring the delivery of daily/weekly/monthly/annual production targets.
* Ensuring the delivery of the Value Stream’s KPIs.
* Ensuring the highest possible standards of safety, quality and customer service are met.
* Identify, develop and implement opportunities for improving processes/technology that affect productivity, delivery and capacity whilst maximising profitability/minimising waste e.g. reducing & eliminating ‘bottlenecks’, outsourcing, multi-skilling, and so on.
* Organise and develop resources, workload and capacity to achieve quality, on time delivery and shipment targets, focusing on customer satisfaction, shareholder value and Operational Excellence.
* To lead and work with the Process Owners, Process Engineers and Team Leaders to ensure that set standards are adhered to at all times- safety and quality
* Manage the maintenance team to Identify, develop & implement maintenance systems and procedures in order to minimize unplanned down time, maximize up time whilst ensuring that equipment and machinery conforms to relevant Health & Safety requirements.
* Manage the logistics function within the business and ensure it adheres to company policy and meets the standards and practices of Crane and the targets established and modified to meet customer requirements from time to time
* Follow up, resolve issues with the Supply chain and ensure expedition of all product/material to meet Value stream and OTD requirements.
* Liaise with customers and internal departments to ensure optimum service levels are provided and improvement upon.
* To drive the Value Stream to deliver or exceed plan levels of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Lead Time and ITR in a cost-effective way that maximizes Operating Profit and EVA whilst ensuring that customer needs are met or exceeded.
* To ensure that the Stream performance is monitored on daily/weekly/monthly bases using performance boards, and that daily/weekly performance from the cell boards is taken into pareto stratification and root cause analysis with problem resolution in appropriate timescales

Applicant will be able to demonstrate;

* A relevant third level qualification (e.g. mechanical or manufacturing engineering), plus a minimum of 5 years relevant practical experience of which at least 3 year is at management level, although ‘qualification’ by experience is just as acceptable as a formal academic qualification
* Strong leadership and people skills
* Must have experience of managing health & safety (formal training would be advantageous)
* Must have experience of working in a unionised environment
* Must be computer literate (MS Office, MRP / ERP).
* Experience gained in a Lean Management environment.
