They are currently seeking a talented Network Operations Specialist to join their Cork, Ireland team. The NOC Specialist will be responding to various system alerts and monitoring our clients networks for anomalies. This role will also support the operations group, ensuring uptime and system functionality for various gaming platforms remains at acceptable levels. It is crucial that the candidate is able to recognize service effecting problems, follow procedures, create tickets and track issues through to completion. Communication with outside vendors and teams will be frequent, we demand a high level of professionalism over both phone and email. Junior candidates will learn and contribute to light automation projects, reviewing new system monitors, system maintenance, physical hardware installation, virtual environment maintenance and remote data-center hands when necessary.
Skills, experience and educational requirements:
* At minimum hobby level Linux experience, some college or military experience is necessary
* Experience with Nagios, Cacti or other monitoring application (MOM, Hp-open view, Zabbix) and ticketing systems (RT, Remedy) preferred
* Fundamentals such as (SNMP, tcp/ip, OSI model, DNS) and programming aptitude (Perl/shell/PHP) are a plus
* Familiarity with shift work, willingness to work off hours (nights)
* Ability to lift 50lbs/23kg
* General corporate computing skills (email, word processing etc.) is a must
