[b]Essential Job Duties:[/b]
Participate in design, setup, deploy and maintain a range of networks deployed for our clients services. The role will be divided between the scoping, design, integration and implementation of new business.
There will also be elements of ongoing improvement, maintenance and troubleshooting of a number of services which are run as network-as-a-service in various datacentres in Ireland and the US.
The Infrastructure Architect performs a leadership and strategic role. They will work with management in providing guidance and direction within the team, improving the team’s technical skills, developing the team’s standard operating procedures and creating technical metrics for management as required.
The applicant must have in-depth knowledge debugging problems related to communications protocols and a proven track record of excellence in design and troubleshooting of Cloud, Enterprise, Telco type systems.
They should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills including solid written and verbal communication. A strong sense of customer service and the ability to both work and lead in a matrix team environment is crucial.
Ensure continuous availability of global infrastructure, data centres, core application platforms and key services, incident and change resilient.
Collaborate with on cloud systems design and engineering, installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting to root cause, and tuning of enterprise data networking equipment for full failover resilience, DC redundancy with built in scalability to predicted capacities.
Partners with our clients engineering team in creation of new technical solutions based on technical knowledge and insight regarding industry trends and associated implications for our client’s services.
Taking full responsibility for ensuring that Operational problems are addressed.
Analyzing systems and suggesting work around and fixes for problems.
Enforce process, policy, strategic, and operational guidelines and procedures.
Stay abreast of contemporary network & security technology and be familiar with various network tools and methodology with a basic amount of supervision.
[b]Skills and Experience:[/b]
Ten-plus years current experience designing, implementing and supporting highly automated infrastructure in mission-critical, Unix/Linux centered, production datacenter environments, globally, for more than one company.
Experience with architecting, deploying, and supporting local and wide area networks in multiple locations globally Minimum of 6 years of configuring and troubleshooting Cisco Edge / Router IOS and Cisco Switch OS.
Expert knowledge of VMware (ESXi experience preferred) or other virtualisation techniques and hands-on experience with hypervisors.
Minimum of 6 years design experience in enterprise level networking with knowledge in network security, TCP/IP, Routing Protocols and SNMP.
Experience with implementation specifications, including power, environmentals, AC, and physical space.
Experience with end to end monitoring and alarming systems to Enterprise level
Advanced Experience with firewall, VPN, and proxy technology, design, deployment, and support.
Experience with network performance analysis and troubleshooting and resolution of complex routing problems using common network tools, protocol analyzers, etc.
Knowledge of Telco circuits management.
Advanced experience with performance analysis troubleshooting & resolution of very complex problems using common tools, protocol analyzers, etc.
Experience in architecting, implementing and supporting database (MSSQL, MySQL) technologies and understanding the associated business implications.
Provide Tier 3 & 4 support on all production and non-production networks driving problem resolution to Vendor development groups if necessary.
Ability to provide Tier 3 support on all production and non-production networks and develop a problem resolution with internal and Vendor stakeholders
