Network Engineer -Dublin- Permanent

The Role:
* Provide support for telephony network infrastructure (PSTN/ISDN, T.38 and G.711 protocols).
* Administer, monitor and troubleshoot 300 network devices in a multi-platform environment.
* Manage Windows based system (2003/2008), SQL server (2005/2008), hyper V, DFS, in-house applications, web, FTP, SMTP
* Support all switches, routers, VPN concentrators, firewalls, and load-balancers (Cisco, HP). Evaluate new hardware/software and services.
* Lead and participate on project teams on tasks and activities within the supported environments.
* Manage public and private IP address space
* Support and manage network infrastructure for corporate and production environments (IPSEC/GRE, VLAN administration, QoS , trunking, etc.).
* Manage network capacity and performance, verify logs and monitor activity on all devices.
* Coordinate maintenance, replacement and repair of network systems,
* Resolve assigned trouble tickets and maintain accurate status in the Faxbox ticketing system
* PrepareSLA’s, policies, escalation and maintenance procedures for servers and related peripherals.
* Prepare project documentation, status reporting, policies, procedures and reports assigned by management.
* Demonstrate initiation and dedication as well as an ability to work independently once general direction is given.
* Communicate information through effective written and oral communication and presentations.
The Person:
* 2-3 years hands-on network administration experience in a distributed environment. Experience with HP Storageworks (iSCSi/FB) and Cisco hardware (6500/4500 series switches, 2800/3800/7200 series routers, PIX/ASA firewalls, content switches/load-balacers) is a strong plus. Dialogic Diva equipment a strong plus.
* 6 years experience designing and implementing networks that support environments such as: Microsoft SQL server 2005/2008 , Microsoft server clustering using Windows 2003/2008 Server, heavily virtualized environments (Hyper-V a plus), HP Storageworks, LVS/HA deployments, and web applications.
* Experience with any of the following is a plus: Fax/Voice Server Hardware, Symantec Enterprise Vault, Microsoft Operation Manager products , Disaster Recovery.
* Bachelors Degree or equivalent perferred.
* Professional Certifications (Microsoft/CISCO CCNA/CCIE/CCDP/CCIP and/or other network industry certifications) highly recommended.
* Candidate must be self-directed and capable of working on several projects and efforts simultaneously.
* Excellent spoken and written communication skills are required. Candidate must be proficient in MS-Office.
* Participate in 24×7 support and on-call rotation.
* Some travel may be required.
* French language skill a plus
