Network Administrator

An exiting opportunity has arisen for a Network Administrator with a leading services provider based in Cork

Reporting to the IT Manager the successful applicant join an existing Infrastructure Team with responsibility for providing network support and project expertise within a highly technical environment utilising Cisco switch technology, Symantec Altiris and VMWare

Role / Opportunity
Cisco LAN/WAN switch configuration
Network security (secure VPN, IPSec encryption)
Network design and configuration
Microsoft Technologies and Active Directory (user account management, group policy)
Server administration and security
Anti-virus deployment and management
Provide Level 3 support to troubleshoot, identify and fix problems
Work independently in a dedicated team within established procedures and processes

Skills / Experience
At least 5 years experience in a Systems / Network support role
Knowledge of Cisco switch technologies backed up with CCNA qualification essential
Exposure to Cisco MARS and CSM would be an advantage
Experience of Active Directory and Microsoft Technologies with relevant Microsoft certification
Knowledge of VMWare an advantage
Experience of Symantec Altiris management suite an advantage
Must demonstrate deep knowledge of a variety of systems and technologies
Third level qualification in an IT related discipline

This role would ideally suit a strong hands on network specialist with excellent customer / client facing skills. A number of new projects are in the pipeline so the role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute, at a project level in new initiatives within the Virtualization and Security space.
