Lead Research and development software engineer

Lead Research and development software engineer (Interfaces) for an award winning R&D company who provide products and services for Mobile Networks Internationally. This is a great role for an established senior / lead telco software engineer to provide technical leadership to a team of software developers of new innovative complex software components / products. You will have responsibility for the planning and delivery of an interface projects from requirement to release, ensure your team applies a disciplined, systematic approach to the development lifecycle, lead technical reviews of documentation and source code, provide technical expertise in the area of network protocols and standards, capture customer requirements for new products / features / GUI / Interfaces, mentor, lead and review members of the design team, oversee full software lifecycle of interface software modules from conception to completion, identify project risks and develop contingency plans.

To qualify you will have a technical Degree with more than 6 yrs commercial experience within the Telecommunications software space with previous team leadership experience and technically you will have strong C , multithreaded programming (pthreads API and thread synchronisation techniques), network programming experience, UDP/TCP, sockets API in blocking and non blocking mode, telecoms protocol experience – HTTP, Diameter, SOAP, CORBA, RADIUS, GTP, SNMP, LDAP, SSH, SS7 Project development lifecycle, design and development methodologies. Desirable is experience with Unix Scripting and Oracle databases
