Due to ongoing expansion, we are currently looking for experienced Senior Java-J2EE developers to join our high energy R&D department. We want highly motivated engineers to be part of an agile development team within a fast-paced environment.

THE ROLE

• Hands on role which will involve design, reviews, coding and trouble shooting
• Analysis and design in Java/J2EE environment
• Develop high-level system architecture designs
• Drive these designs through development, testing, documentation and delivery
• Review of design, functional specifications and code
• Create and review test plans and test tools
• Contribute to continuous process improvements
• Install and deliver developed applications to customer sites
• Report on project progression to Senior Management
• Provide team mentoring

THE SKILLS NEEDED

You will have a relevant degree, a minimum of 6 years industry experience (at least 4 years using Java) and a strong background in the following areas:

• Architecture and design skills
• Agile development methods, like SCRUMs and SPRINTs
• Virtualization, Cloud-based Applications, Amazon AWS, VM-ware, EC-2
• Strong Java and OO skills
• Standard OO design patterns
• ORM frameworks such as Hibernate
• RDBMS experience encompassing schema design
• PL/SQL having used: MySQL, Oracle, PostGreSQL
• Spring Core Framework including Spring web flow, Spring MVC
• Maven and continuous integration tools such as Hudson
• Participation in the full software development lifecycle
• Software quality processes
• Development on a Linux/Unix platform
