Java GUI Developer

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a multi national. The position is for a Senior Software Engineer in Cork. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a progressive IT company that is thriving in the current market.

In our clients short history they have developed many sophisticated software products that provide the human interface into the control of industrial automation devices. The emphasis is very much on innovation and technical excellence in software development and the market place is competitive and demanding.

Specific tasks would include:-

A degree or equivalent in a related engineering or computer science discipline is required.

4 years Java Development experience in a commercial software industry is essential.

Experience and extensive knowledge of some or all of the following technologies is required:

Java GUI Development

Eclipse plug-in development including experience in core platform, SWT, EMF, GEF, GMF

Object Oriented Application Development

Unified Modeling Language (UML) design

JUnit or other unit testing frameworks

Experience in some or all the following technologies is an advantage:

SVG/flash

XML libraries and binding technologies

CVS, Subversion

Quick Test Pro

Required Skills

Design, coding and unit testing software

Interfacing with software test team in preparing and maintaining the quality of the software development effort during system test and release test phases

Reporting on development effort within agreed formats and timescales

Adhering to Software Development Lifecycle, processes and practices

Adhering to the Software Quality Management system
