Java Developer – Hedgefunds

Our Client is looking to hire a Java Developer with experience in designing, developing, implementing and maintaining applications for a Hedge funds client. Ideally if you have background experience working in Hedge Funds with quants/financial engineering team it would be an extreme advantage.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Support/improve the current suite of tools and applications used by Risk and Valuation group. Core
2. infrastructure is primarily based on Java/J2EE framework
3. Put together rapid technology solutions to solve business problems using best suited technology
4. knowledge of multiple technologies is essential
5. Collaborate with global Risk and Valuation IT team on various projects,
6. Establish and execute successful implementation strategies (technical specification authoring based on
7. business requirements, product pilot, beta product, training, practice development and rollout) across
8. key projects

Requirements:

1. Strong Java skills
2. Experience working with quants/financial engineering team/front-desk is a big plus
3. Database skills (Sybase/oracle) – database query and design
4. Experienced in full lifecycle of application development
5. Experience in using application servers (e.g. Websphere Application Server)
6. Knowledge of multiple technologies, working knowledge of C#
