[b]Java Developer 1 Year Contract – Daily Rate [/b]

Curach Consulting (recently acquired by Deloitte) currently have an opportunity for a Java Developer for a 1 year contract, daily rate, with the potential for rollover. We are looking for someone to start in October 2011 and encouraging applications as soon as possible.

[b]Responsibilities/ Role Requirements[/b]
Role Description

– Detailing designs for new application modules and interfaces and changes to existing modules and interfaces
– Web service development,
– Coding in adherence to the standards of the application in question,
– Ensure all deliverables are on schedule
– Issue analysis, diagnosis and resolution
– Maintaining, tuning and repairing applications in order to keep them performing according to technical and functional specifications;
– Use of version control of application code
– Integration of technical and application components to meet business requirements
– Performing preventive maintenance activities;
– Preparation and maintenance of technical documentation and project manuals
– Building and Unit Testing of new modules and interfaces
– The production of detailed Unit Test Plans
– Providing user support including during User Acceptance Testing
– Support for Stress/Load Testing.

[b]Required Skills:[/b]
– Java programming (J2EE compliant environment),
– Development and deployment of Enterprise Java Beans (EJB2/EJB3),
– HTML / XML / XHTML /XSLTXSD/WSDL/Javascript / CSS,
-Oracle Application Server in a large-scale J2EE development (Oracle 9i or higher)
– Oracle database (Oracle 10g or higher)
– Development and implementation of web services technology.
– Working with PL/SQL stored procedures, packages and functions
– A good track record in the development and implementation of systems,
– Source control using Microsoft VSS or / and Subversion.
– Development using Eclipse
– CodeBuildingand Deployment using Jakarta ANT
– Knowledge, understanding of and the use of an OOAD methodology
– English Language both spoken and written.
– Self starter with good problem determination skills
– Working effectively within a team and good communication skills,
– Proven track record in meeting deadlines
– Proven track record in providing skills transfer / mentoring.
– Automated testing using SOAP test harness
– Blob storage and retrieval to/from an Oracle database.
