The Company

Our Belfast based client is part of a global IT consultancy who are focused on delivering quality solutions to client’s IT implementations and deployment initiatives.

The role

Our client are looking to recruit a Java contractor, in test to work in the Belfast office to help facilitate growing business requirements.

Role duties will include:
• Writing well designed, testable, efficient code.
• Providing support to software development, testing, implementation, and infrastructure teams.
• Troubleshoot content and software related issues reported by internal teams and external clients
• Assist product team with performance testing initiatives.
• Follow continuous integration principles for code development and testing.

The Person
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or IT related subject.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java and n-Tier web technologies.
• Proven experience with SQL concepts, Oracle database a must.
• Scripting experience using Perl/Linux Bash/Groovy desired.
• Familiarity with Oracle suite of products – Database, Weblogic server etc.
• Familiarity with industry standard defect tracking, traceability systems such as JIRA .
• Fluency in automation test methodologies and tools (e.g. Selenium Webdriver, JUnit), load testing using open source tools.
