IT Tester – Contract Role

My client, a large retail high street bank is recruiting for an IT/Software tester to join their technical team in Cork. The role entails testing the functionality of new software developments and reporting findings to the Testing Manager. The successful candidate will have the ability to:

·Understand the purpose and requirements of new system developments.
·Develop a suitable test strategy for each development.
·Contribute to overall project plans.
·Translate the business requirements into the creation of appropriate test plans.
·Test the new development to ensure the release is free from defects.
·Adhere to standards and procedures.
·Sign off the test results for transfer to the production environment.

Ideally you will have previous experience in a testing environment, preferably in retail banking. You should also have a familiarity with financial IT systems; experience with Unibanks would be a distinct advantage. You will have strong initiative and an ability to work on your own as well as a capability to learn and understand complex business processes. You should have good PC skills with knowledge of MS Office products and a desire to further your IT skill through ongoing training and education.
