Our client is a successful NASDAQ-listed global supply chain and logistics solutions business. Publicly owned, they provide logistics solutions that touch on all aspects of the supply chain. An opportunity has now arisen for an IT Systems Administrator / IT Officer to join their team.

This is the ideal role for an IT professional with excellent customer service and communication skills looking to develop their career and skill set in a fast paced environment.

As an IT Systems Administrator / IT Officer, you will be responsible for assisting with, and improving the development of all in-house and IT systems. This will include participating in IT projects, delivering the IT SLAs and providing systems support to users IT problems.

You will be tasked with:

– Managing all reports via the in-house and implementation automation
– Providing sales support and input on IT aspects of bid preparation
– Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and purchasing
– Liaising with customers and IT suppliers, including managing relationships, resolving issues and negotiating contracts
– Informix programming

To be considered for this position, you must have solid IT experience. Additionally, as an IT Systems Administrator / IT Officer, you must possess excellent customer service and communication skills. Accuracy and attention to detail are also key.

Although not essential, our client has a strong preference for candidates with knowledge of SQL (or similar). Experience of UNIX and the ability to programme, with an understanding of scripts, would also be a distinct advantage to your application, as would knowledge of any of the following: MS Access, Visual Basic, Windows 2000, Lotus Notes, MS Office and Internet Explorer.
